El patio de Atocha,
is the place where you don’t lose the good habits.

Being on everyone’s lips has never been as significant as it is now. The restaurant of the Hotel CoolRooms Palacio de Atocha, named El Patio de Atocha, in reference to the wonderful patio where it is located; an oasis of calm in the centre of Madrid, with a swimming pool that appears and disappears by magic and a fountain whose sound becomes the soundtrack of the dining experience. A space full of light, open to the air in summer and isolated by a marvellous glass structure the rest of the year. A privileged enclave where you can enjoy a careful gastronomy with a service oriented to offer the customer a great experience.

A GASTRONOMIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE SENSES

The cuisine of this idyllic place is the responsibility of chef Alberto Martínez, who offers traditional recipes with an ‘innovative travelling touch’. A local, quality product, with typical dishes from the capital and the influence of other cultures and international cuisines. A true meeting of flavours and cultures. Some of its dishes such as grilled artichokes confit, rice with prawns and bacon or tuna tartar with guacamole, wakame and lotus root, are already a reference in the restaurant.

Our executive menu is available from Monday to Thursday, from 13:30 to 17:00.

OUR CHEF

“I pursue originality in my dishes in order to surprise my diners. I like to deconstruct dishes that reveal the most authentic flavours of Madrid and give them that ‘innovative travelling touch’. Always respecting the local, quality product, the artisanal production and looking for poetry in this fusion of flavours and cultures, like the ‘Culturas’ collection of Rocio de la Torre’s work that is exhibited in our Palacio”.

Innovation is fundamental in a menu that introduces daily variations and plays with current concepts such as slowfood or organic cuisine. A proposal to enjoy a unique experience through the palate.

About Eduardo Gutiérrez. His relationship with cooking began when he was a child, helping his mother in the kitchen. At the age of 16 he was already working in the picnic area of his native Los Navalucillos, Toledo. Although his studies were directed towards engineering, he soon realised that cooking was his passion and he began to take different cookery courses, training courses, internships and to experiment and create. He worked at the Hotel El Coto, where he learnt the solid basis of cooking, garnishes, sauces, techniques and elaborations. He worked in the kitchens of Paco Quirós, Joseba Guijarro, Hotel Urban and DiverXo, stopping off in Mexico for a couple of years in between.

His aim is to make El Patio de Atocha a gastronomic meeting point for the cosmopolitan Madrid public and the international traveller who stays at Palacio de Atocha.

Weekend BRUNCH

El Patio de Atocha has become the best meeting point for one of the most appetising brunches in Madrid. The brunch, open to non-guests, starts with coffee of your choice, detox or orange juice, multi-fruit smoothie, a selection of pastries, toast with tomato, AOVE, butter and jams. As a main recipe you can choose eggs Benedict, avocado and salmon toast or cochinita pibil tacos. And, as a last bite you can choose our cheesecake, fresh fruit salad or yoghurt with berries. To finish with a drink (water, soft drink, white wine, red wine or beer).

A delicious late breakfast overlooking our pool on our garden courtyard.
